From today's Newsday, an article by vilaine fille alter ego Marion Lignana Rosenberg about multimedia pianist and interdisciplinary performer Anthony de Mare.
De Mare makes his Carnegie Hall début tonight with Gotham Glory, a Zankel Hall program that includes four world premieres along with two classic works: Meredith Monk's "Gotham Lullaby," and Frederic Rzewski's "De Profundis," based on Oscar Wilde's letter from Reading Gaol. (By the way, anyone with $10K burning a hole in their pocket can feel free to buy me the first edition of De Profundis—sigh, sigh, sigh!)
(This ends today's episode of book lust. Apologies.)
